The local economy is healthy with a 2004 gross product (Paso Robles) of $1,600,000,000. With

North County has sustained strong, uninterrupted economic growth since 1993. Paso Robles and
the surrounding areas hold the charm of a rural community, but is developing into a center of viticulture,
recreation, commerce, and housing. It is truly a place with something for everyone.
Standard lots and new home construction floor plans are typically larger in this area. The majority of
the county’s real estate growth is here, as well as the majority of the larger 1-100+ acre parcels. There
are several new developments in Northern San Luis Obispo County that range from 2200-3000sqft homes on ¼-
1/2 acre lots. Paso Robles has a very quaint down town with large majestic trees and a
fountain. It is an amazing place to spend a summer Friday or Saturday night listening to free concerts in the
park. There are several nice restaurants within walking distance as well. The predominate industry here is
the wine industry. There are currently 90+ wineries in the area with an expected 150 by the year 2010. There was
recently an article in the Los Angeles times that suggests we may well be the next Napa Valley. There is very
little crime in the area (compared to larger cities).
In Paso Robles, they also have a great Mid-state fair and Rodeo along with several
nationally recognized equestrian events. During Christmas we shut down a main street called Vine Street and the
entire Victorian Street comes alive with lights, Christmas music, carolers, hot cider and plays. There is even a
scrooge that sits on his balcony and yells at the children and people passing by. Every week Paso Robles has a
farmers market of organic vegetables and fruits. Every year Paso Robles hosts the Zin Festival, Wine
Festival, Olive Festival and Harvest Festival, all of which attract thousands of wine lovers from all over the
country. If you like wine, every weekend there are also tours, tastings, and dinners to attend.
If you are looking for value, quality of living, and a rural community feel, all nestled into one of the next
big wine regions of California, Paso Robles Real Estate in Northern San Luis Obispo
county is most definitely worth a look.
